Hello everyone!
Our Japan Fan Cafe website was in soft-launch mode, but we are officially starting it full-scale from May 2026!

Why I started this website
Recently, because of the weak yen, the number of Canadians traveling to Japan is growing very fast.
Many people ask me, “Where are the hidden gems in Japan?” or “Where should I go?”
I wanted to answer all of these questions in one place, so I decided to set up this website.
About our team, “Team JFC”
We are a group of Japanese immigrants and Japanese-Canadians who work bilingually in English and Japanese.
My name is Sakura, and I am the leader of this group. I call myself “Okami” (which means a manager or hostess of a traditional Japanese inn) and work as the founder and Meetup coordinator.
* If you are planning your first trip to Japan, feeling excited, and want to hear real stories from Japanese immigrants and Japan lovers…
* If you have already visited Japan many times, love Japanese food and fan culture, and want to talk with friends who share your passion…
Then please join our online events and pop-up Meetups!
We also host a casual $10 Japanese food seminar at the Vancouver Community Center, so please check that out too.
Next Event Information (Late June)
Our next in-person pop-up Cafe and meeting will be held in **late June in Vancouver’s historic Japan Town**.
We will announce the details soon on this website, Eventbrite, and Meetup. If you live around the Vancouver area, please come and join us!
If you cannot make it in person, we are also thinking about streaming the event online, depending on how many people are interested.
Let’s bring various parts of Japanese fan culture, food, and modern daily lifestyle into our lives and enjoy them together!
